Yesterday I was just sitting at our dining room table with my laptop and I had the sudden impulse.

I wanted to go take some pictures :)

So I said to my lil sis, "Hey Cara let's go take some picture!"
And she was like, "But I'm eating my bugles..."
So I was like, "Come on Cara. Let's go take some pictures!"
And she was like, "Fine..."

We got on our boots and dipped out the front door into the frigid air.

BURR!

And I'd forgotten my gloves....

Yes, I could have dipped back inside. No, I chose not to.

Anywho, we took a bunch of pictures with our kitties.


Then we were running around our house taking pics.


We ran to the back of our house.


And finally we took pics with our horses.

So I'm up this late and I just got a few Phineas and Ferb songs and put em on iTunes and I thought, "Hey why don't I tell people how I did this?'

So here's what you do.

Evening of Epicness

Tonight has been absolutely memorable. On the one hand I had really wanted to be home, but now I'm SO very glad I didn't dip.

Tonight I was able to hang out with like 10 fantastic! individuals.

I put glitter in a Al's hair...
I covered him in silly string...
We put some more glitter in his shampoo...
I got "yelled" at by his RA Nathan...
I was later scared by said sparkly vampire, screamed really loudly, and was "yelled" at by said Nathan again...
Later I hung out in Ben's room with Tabitha, Kristi, Erin, Travis, Zac and Evan and threw his red cock around...
Talked to Nathan trying to convince him that I was not up to any shennanigans...
Exploded apples outside in the frigid air with Tabitha...
Then finally hung out with my bud Evan as he worked on his art project...

This has been one Freakin Fantastic Evening :D

But alas I do believe that I should hit the hay, dunk the turkey, roast a mallow, kick a squirrel, whatever it is that kids are saying these days.

Point 1: I just watched Man on Fire with Denzel Washington. THAT was an awesome movie. He's like all "I'm such a big tough guy" then he gets to know this little girl he had to watch over and then he's all like "Aw you're so cute. I love you." Then he goes all "D@#$ you done took the one person I love. I'm gonna kick your a$$ motha f*&#@!"

Point 2: My chinese food=deliciousness. I had cashew chicken and fried rice. Super yummy! I wasn't able to eat the entire pint, cuz come on, it was a pint.

Point 4: I have to write 2 papers tomorrow. One for my English 220 class, which has to be 5-7 pages long, and one for my English 230 class, which has to be 7-8 pages long.

Bleh.

No fun.

But hey after I write those papers, take a quiz by Friday, and return a book I rented I can go home!

Yay!

Point 5: I'm going to go eat some Breakfast for Supper later tonight. That's gonna be fun :)

I literally spent like half an hour trying to beat this game.

I got to the 16th level and then I was just having The Worst Luck ever.
For some reason I just could not get the goal number.
Like I needed to get 400 points and I was getting like 350 some.
One time I got 398.

But then when I went back and beat the entire thing in like less than 5 minutes, the last level included.

How lame right?

Well I beat the game.
Wasted a good part of my life.

Aglet

Story time! Story time!

I was walking through wal mart with my friend Tabitha and we saw this bin of Cuddlee Pets. They're like Pillow Pets, but the off brand. And yea I was overcome with the desire to possess one. I was messing around on ebay and the idea popped into my head, "Let's look for that turtle pillow!"
And so I did.

I bought Aglet for $8 :)

That was like........last Thursday? I think?

Doesn't matter cuz he came today :) and it was just the topping to my cupcake :)

Isn't he adorable!!!


I also thought that the label on it was was funny.

Ages 3 and up indeed lol
That just goes to show that I really am a child at heart :P

Oh! So I guess I didn't tell you how his name came to be. That's in interesting story as well.

As you know, or you would if you read the past few blogs, I was really tired today. Well I picked up my package down at the front desk and dipped on upstairs. But then I was being obstinate and wouldn't take a nap until I had named my new lil friend. Well I decided that I would just sleep on it and see what happened.

Later I was hanging out with Tabitha and we were mulling over names and such. We were just spewing out random names and then I thought of Phineas and Ferb......

Sleep I say No

My friends keep telling me that I need to go to sleep,
but I said nooooooooooo.

My one friend Emma just told me:

but I can't.

I mean I could if I really wanted to, but really there's no point. It's 2:25 at this exact point in time and I have a class at 3.

So you see there is not point in trying to sleep. Course I was done with my other class at 1.....so I could have grabbed a nap.....

My hands are completely all a jitter.

Jitter.....that's a fun word.

I feel my arms just buzzing. Should they do that? I don't think they should.
Maybe it's because I'm typing all this really fast.

I love Ricky Gervais!!! He is so funny. I really liked him in the British version of The Office.

Ode to Potato Soup in a Bread Bowl

You sit there all cozy and warm,
radiating delicious fumes of potato, cheese, and bacon.

Oh! lovely bacon that gently lies on top
of the thick soup of potato.

Tantalizing, and teasing
you sit there on my plate.

I can't take this anymore.
And with that I take my spoon and delve in.

I eat the warmth of potato.
I eat the crispy of the bacon.
I eat the mush of the cheese.

And then I eat the bread.

Oh delicious bread of the spicy variety.

The soft inside soaked with the soup that once was,
The crispy outside provides a delightful contrast.

It is all gone and
I am satiated.

Good Golly Gracious and Mother Teresa

So I'm staring at my Rolos on the edge of my desk. I just ate like 7 of them and there's only 3? left. I don't know. I don't have x-ray vision.

My 220 prof. is off ranting again. My mind is wandering.

I had my EdMul class just before this and it was my last class and I'm going to miss that class. Wow....I just said class like 3 times.

3 is a good number.

I am feeling the need to differentiate all of my sentences from one another. Another. One another?

I don't know why I came back to that. Anywho, so yea.

I was up late last night helping my friend Corey work on his website thing. He had to make photoshop pieces and he needed "artistic assistance." So I was helping him for an hour. Then I went to work on my papers. Did some of my papers. He came back for more help. I helped him. I finished working on my papers. My other friend Evan wanted to see me so I dipped. But then Corey came up later.....So that was a fun evening.

I went to bed at like 4:30
Woke up at 7:30 to print something off for my EdMul class this morning.
Then I went back to "sleep" and woke up at 9.

I say "sleep" because it was a very fitful sleep. I wasn't in the REM state. I was just like on the surface. Just touching the mirrored image of sleep. Not quite immersing myself.

So now I'm here....
Ranting.....
Not paying attention to Mai Kuha whom I greatly dislike....

I am SO ready for this class to be over and done with!
Like seriously.....it sucks!

Back to my rant.

Oh! So fun little tid bit, morsel if you will. The title of this very special blog post is in honor of my endeavor to try to stop swearing as much. I swear more than I would like. I don't have a sailor mouth persay... but I do tend to let it slip in certain circumstances. Anywho, I am replacing swear words with sayings like "good golly gracious", "mother teresa", "garfunkle" and other random words that come to mind.

I'm gonna eat another Rolo.

Spewing Snow and Sleep Deprevation

Oh my Good Golly Gracious it is snowing outside! I am so excited about this! Why am I so excited about this? It's just a form of precipitation that is cascading from the sky. Yes....but it's the first of December. It is completely fitting and fantastic that it is snowing today :D :D :D

That......plus the fact that I am running on less than 3 hours of sleep :P

Yea so I'm not gonna lie, not that I would lie, I just say that conversationally, anywho, I had to stay up and read a book for my history class because we have a quiz today. Actually it's my next class.......in less than 50 minutes......anywho, yes, so I had to read a book. It was like 200 pages and it was fairly interesting, as far as a book in history can go. It was titled Surviving in Auschwitz by Primo Levi. The info that he had crammed in there was fascinating but the ending was just a bit below par. But of course I can't really judge on that because this was a real story not something made up by an author. Life is not always as grandiose as written fiction. But the funny thing was that I had really started trying to read the book at like 8 last night. I should have been able to finish the book in like an hour anda half. But people kept stopping by my room, I had to run-go-get my shoes, I watched Dear John with my roomie and a friend, I had to help another friend write his paper that was due today, and then I had to finish reading my book. So that was a pretty full night, but it was pretty fairly adequately pleasant :)

Sexiness with a Cigarette

Natalie Dee you slay me sometimes.

I've been perusing some cartoons created by Natalie Dee lately. Between class. During class. I'm not gonna lie, they're not all fantastic but I do like a great deal of them. This one here particularly struck my fancy because my older brother is completely obsessed with Michael Caine.

I mean come on! It's Michael Caine! Look at that sexy face!


I first got to see Michael Caine when he played Ebenezer Scrooge in The Muppet Christmas Carol. Then he played in Secondhand Lions, Miss Congeniality, Austin Powers: Goldmember, The Dark Knight, and most recently Inception.

He's just one of those guys that you add to your movie to give it copious amounts of class.

I definitely need to go and check out some of his earlier work for 2 reason.
1.) He is a really good actor.
2.) Did you not see that picture?? He is one Handsome Man.

Piece by Piece

I love that I'm making all sorts of titles for these blog posts and they don't always have that much to do with the blog posts themselves. If you read into the titles you can understand what I'm getting at. Except for that one I titles "Mmmm Candy" I could have gone and elaborated what I meant by "candy". I shall do that This Very Instant! (she stated in a dramatic voice)

Sorry you'll have to say it in a dramatic voice in your head cuz I don't want to take the time to make a video and post it along with this.

Anywho, "Mmm Candy" refers to medicine. It all started back in high school marching band when I was taking ibuprofen fairly often to counteract the pain I was feeling for some reason or another. Yea so I just referred to medicine as candy. That's the story. Nothing to grandiose or anything about it. If you wanted more of a story I guess I could come up with one, but.....I'm not feeling it today.

The real reason I wanted to hop on here and update my blog was because I've been stumbling, and if you don't know what that means it's a special little do-hickey that Firefox has, and I found some really great sites that I thought I would share with you.

Sick am I

It occurred to me that I have not updated this blog in quite some time.
My bad.
Well hey I'm updating it now. Better late than never.
So hey ya'll I've got a good excuse for you. Are you ready for this?
An elephant stepped on my foot and so I had to get a cast and I've been doped up on meds for the past few days.
No? You don't believe me? Well I don't blame you. It was a lie.
Just a little one though.
It was more of a joke....cuz I knew you wouldn't believe me.

Anywho, I've seriously been sick for the past few days. Lemme see......since Monday and it's currently Saturday. So yea it's been awhile. A while. I forget which one you're supposed to use when. But yes, I have been sick. My tonsils are literally the size of golf balls. We thought that I had strep throat because I was so prone to it in my youth. Came up negative. Then we thought that since I'm so tired all the time that I had mono. Came up negative. So we currently have no idea what I caught but I'm taking omxycillin and vitamin C pills all the time. Plus momma's got me eating bananas. Random.....

I went to sleep last night at like 6:30 and woke up at 2 this morning. Lame sauce. It took me forever to get back to sleep. Talk about irritating. I had like a dozen messed up dreams.
I was a Russian spy in Germany who was trying to get information about some sort of bomb.
Angelina Jolie and I were trying to save this girl from some chinese pirates. She wanted to take out the captain and fight the whole crew, so I let her do that while I went and got the girl. I got out of there and just left Angelina cuz to be frank I don't like her one bit.
Another dream was of me trying to fall asleep.....odd....maybe that was just me being awake.....
And there's a few others that I don't quite wish to put into text form ;)

Other than my being sick, it has been an enjoyable time at home. I was able to eat 2 thanksgiving meals.
Yay turkey.
I have to get back to school tomorrow.
Bleh.
But hey at least I found the time between my doping up on medicine and naps to finally post an update.

Mmm Candy

At this very moment I should be working on a 5 page paper for my English 230 class but I feel obliged to take the time and talk to my fellow bloggers. What? You don't believe me? Yea well you're right. I just don't want to work on the paper. I'm a college student alright I have better things to do.....like update my blog.....

Anywho, today was not the best of days for Miss Amy Jo Brookins. For multiple reasons being stress in school, a heavily weighted backpack and I'm assuming a sleeping position gone awry my back has been screaming at me literally all day.

"Hey you! I'm going to make your day suck just because I can!"

Not the nicest thing to say to me. It can be very rude sometimes, but hey you can't live with it you can't live without it. Well it's more that you can't live without it....period. So yea I just took 5 ibuprofen to shut it up. Jeez I hope I don't die....

But yea on another more uplifting note Fruesday is coming up. Woot woot! I shall only have 2 classes on Fruesday instead of the 5 I would have. Grr I know. Yea why did I go and schedule the bulk of my classes Mon/Wed/Fri. Silly silly me. I think I scheduled my classes better next semester. I'll have my 2 art classes Tue/Thur so that should be fun. 6+ hours of art plus whatever else I need to spend in the studio. But hey I'm actually excited about that :)

Oh jeez you know what I just remembered? Course you don't. So yea I just remembered that I have to take the Praxis on Saturday. It's basically supposed to be an amped up SAT for teaching majors. I gotta pass that so that I can actually apply to the teacher's college and start taking my teaching classes. That's going to be a 4 hour testing period. I am NOT looking forward to that. Gah but It's necessary.....

So has your head every felt like it was electrified? Mine did last night.....Maybe that's a bad thing. I dunno.

Well hey ya'll I'm off to write my paper! bleh....

Today is Today

This blog post is inspired by Campbell's Soup At Hand soup, the Across the Universe soundtrack and my damp pant legs.

Point 1:
I have no idea how I feel about this Soup At Hand soup. I mean the name they plastered on it is redundant. You have Soup in the title, why do you need to repeat that it's soup?
Answer: You don't.
And apparently my microwave is a complete beast because my Soup At Hand soup burnt the roof of my mouth when I tried to drink? it. Or maybe I just put it in for too long.....But of course I'm going to blame the microwave.

Point 2:
I recently acquired the Across the Universe soundtrack from my buddy Evan and I'm so excited to be listening to it. I remember when I hadn't seen the movie and I tried to listen to the I Am the Walrus song.......I'm 99.999% sure that I had a very perplexed look on my face.
Which actually is quite normal. Maybe not perplexed, but definitely odd. I make many odd facial expressions. They're fun to make for 2 reasons: They just feel funny when I make them and they make other people laugh.

Point 3:
So yea the weather outside is pretty dreary right now. I woke up this morning to a beautifully foggy day? Yea not so beautiful. It wasn't too bad when I walked out there to my one class today at noon thirty. Gotta love Tuesdays/Thursdays. Course when I walked out it was raining and cold. Thankfully there was no real wind because man oh man that would have sucked. So yea that lead to the edges of my pants getting wet from the puddles of water on the sidewalks.

Well I have finished my Soup At Hand soup and am eyeing a turtle cookie from Otis Spunkmeyer. Please excuse me while I go forth and dine on the deliciousness.

I am horrible with titles

So I'm not gonna lie to you (whoever you might be) I'm a bit anxious about writing this blog. I think it's my underlining fear of rejection. But hey let's just get over that for the time being and try to write a blog or two. Who knows maybe I'll write on a regular basis. I have no idea.

So I want you (again whoever you might be) to know that I am a very random person. I don't have ADD or ADHD or whatever but I do jump from subject to subject. This is just a disclaimer for possible blogs to come: I will not edit (much) of what I'm thinking. I find that it's more interesting if I just write whatever I'm thinking of. That's how some of my best poems have come out. And hey you know maybe I'll post a poem on here.

Idk. We'll see. I like writing in these choppy sentences. It helps. Idk. Reminds me of Ted DekKer. If you don't know who he is look him up on wikipedia or something. He is an AMAZING! Christian writer. And it's not like "Oh I'm Christian and I'm going to slam this in your face." No, it's more like "Hey here's a fricken amazing story that has a theme dealing with some Christian aspect." It's nifty.

I love the word nifty.

I also like writing in these sorts of lines/paragraphs/stanzas whatever-be-hat-cha

Yes, I just said that.

Alright so this has just been a small morsel of what might, could, probably, possibly, most likely happen in my blog posts to come.
