Update

1.) Alright so I was freaking out about my debate that I had to give this morning.

But it went well.

Whew!

I think we presented our argument well enough, it could have been better, and I think that the affirmative team definitely won.
But hey we did the best we could.

2.) My tonsils are currently the size of ping pong balls. I don't know why. They just swelled up last night.

And yea it was fun trying to give a speech like that....but whatever....

It's uncomfortable trying to eat :/

3.) I just got another moleskin notebook!

I love them so much....


I have my vine journal for lengthy entries, my red journal for random thoughts and poems, my lil red moleskin sketchbook for sketches (duh) and now this one.

I have no idea what to use it for but whatever. I'll find a use for it :P

4.) I just got the call saying that I'm assured my summer job at Homecrest, a cabinet making factory back home in Goshen.

Woot! Woot!


I'm gonna be back working in the same place I was last summer.

What I loved was that Kerri said that Bob, my supervisor, was glad to have me working for him again :)

It feels good when others appreciate your hard work :)

5.) I have an 8 page paper, a video project, another debate, and numerous art projects due in the next 2 weeks.

But yea I'll probably talk (whine) more about those as time progresses.

Athos!!

You know it's just weird using someone else's laptop.

There's all sorts of little quirks that you set up on your laptop that just aren't on any other one.

Like I have Expose and these Spaces assigned to stuff.
I have this whole finger-swipeyness
and yea Emma's didn't so it was weird.

But hey whatever I have him back now :P

Oh rollin back a bit: My powerpoint wasn't working on Athos and Emma's mommy dearest has the new Microsoft Suite. So I was like,
"Mommy dearest, could you be a darling and install the new suite on Athos?? My powerpoint isn't working :("
and she was like,
"Well sure dear. I would love to. :)"

So Emma took Athos home with her for the weekend
and now I have all sorts of new programs to have fun with :P

I missed him very much so I did.

I hopped on facebook and one of my profs had this video posted of this girl who had recently bashed on asians. This kid turned around and made a response video, but it wasn't like a hurtful video.

And kinda made fun of her.

Messin with Meeko

Hey hey just kinda passing the time here. Let's see what is something that I could talk about....
Well I'm noticing that as I'm typing this the keys are making a satisfying clacking noise.
I'm currently using my lovely roomie's laptop, Meeko.

Yes, like the raccoon in Pocahontas :P

She's a gunna be takin Athos home with her.
I dunno why I said it like that.

Anyway,she's taking Athos home this weekend so that her and her momma can put powerpoint on him cuz it's not working for me :/
It won't even launch.

Thrify

I would say that I am a rather thrifty individual.

I have these lil duct tape boxy thingys around me room which help provide a little bit of organization.

With just a little bit of duct tape or well crafted origami you can be just as thrifty as me! :D

It's called a Origami Trash Can. Weird...
But Yea I made it so that I could have my contact case and solution right beside my bed because my glasses broke and I put my contacts in literally right as I wake up. I am so dependent on my contacts. I. Am. Blind. without them. So I made this :)


Then there's this ma bobber. I originally made this for my journal so I could have it right beside my bed, but I found a better purpose for it. It now holds all the letters I get from my grandma :)


Last but not last is this lil doober goober. This was the first thing that I made. The outlet is in a really awkward spot on the wall and I needed to charge my phone but not have the cable thing in the way. So I made this lil boxy thingy to hold my cell phone :)


Oh yea!


I use the command strips to hold up the lil boxes and I have the hooks around my room too.

These things rock!

And these two are working together to keep my extension cord thing off the floor and out of the way.


I love finding handy ways to do things :)

Nobody to Somebody

You're a nobody until you become a somebody.

Think about it. Read it over a couple times.

When you're walking around you see people, but you have no connection to them.
They're just faces in a crowd.
You don't have a personal connection to them.

I just thought about this earlier this morning.
I was walking down the sidewalk and noticed a cute guy.
He glanced at me and then readjusted his gaze.

I realized that I do this all the time!
We all do this all the time.

You notice so many things as you're walking around, but that's all you're really doing.
Noticing them.

It's not until you actually have a conversation and get to know the person that they actually stick in your mind.

A face becomes more than a face when you develop a connection.

The face is really the way to see into a person's soul.

:How do they feel about their boyfriend breaking up with them?
:Are they upset with their math grade?

Let's try this.
If you're walking past a building and 2 girls come out of the building one has tears pouring down her face and the other is nonchalant.
Which one do you notice more?
The girl crying right?
For me at least I would immediately feel empathy towards this girl crying and just forgo the nonchalant one.
I would have developed a sort of connection with her.
I would have wanted to help her.

As soon as I felt empathy towards her, as soon as I made that connection with her, she became more than a face in the crowd.

It's just interesting when you start evaluating your own thoughts and actions and try to figure our why you do the things that you do.

Oh my good golly gracious!!

I am SO ready to be done with my debate class.




We just got done with our value debates, which she gave us like 2 weeks to go over information and what'll be expected of us, and now we've got policy debates starting next week.

WTF??

We've hardly gone over what we need to do.
We have to talk in 5 minutes intervals rather than 3.
It was hard enough coming up with 3 minutes of information and now she expects us to come up with 5.
AND
Since I'm the negative side there's not much that I can actually prepare.
I have to do my speeches impromptu.
Granted I have a partner, but still. It's not like it really helps me out any.

Grrrr

Then next week I have to prepare the other side of the argument.
That should be easier.
Just because we can have more things thought out and written down.
But the fact that this is going to be mostly impromptu for 5 minutes has me frazzled.

I DON'T WANT TO WORK ON MY DEBATE STUFF!!!

I don't really like the prof.
And I'm paired up with this doofus.
So I bet I'm going to have to do most of the work.

So yea I've got a twitter now and my bestie said today that I was obsessed. I would say.....nah? Not so much. It's just that it's fun ya know?

The only reason I got it in the first place was because
1.) I had the app free on my smarty phony phone
2.) I wanted to follow Craig Ferguson :)

Well then it's just developed since then.

I'm following my friends from high school and friends from college. People post more of their thoughts on twitter it seems to me than they do on facebook.

Facebook it seems to me is just for the "important" stuff.

Pfft

Well with that in mind let's just skee daddle on over to this thought:
I synced my twitter with my facebook.

Now this might annoy some people, maybe not, frankly I don't care.
If I'm cluttering your home page or whatever just you know hid my stuff.

Cuz the thing is that I want people to see my RanDoMOsiTY

I think that I'm a funny person.
I'm not being all conceited or anything.
This has been based on past experiences and this and that and whatnot be-hat-ya.

So logically I want as many people to see as possible.

By having it synced on facebook more people get to comment and "like" my posts rather than people who just follow me on twitter.
And there are some random people that I don't know who are following me now........weird........

But yea maybe deep deep deep deep down I'm just really insecure and I need the reassurance from other individuals....

Hmm that actually seems rather plausible if you look at it from a negative perspective.
From the positive perspective: I might just want to make others laughs.

Yea I like that idea better :)
